HILLARY ENSCONCED IN STATE DEPARTMENT

HER FAT SOGGY BOTTOM
FIRMLY PLANTED AT FOGGY BOTTOM

(Jan,22, Washington, DC) Hillary Clinton began her tenure as the Secretary of State today. Once, President Obama’s most tenacious, vicious rival for the office he now holds, for some reasons known only to him, he appointed Hillary to head the State Department. Perhaps Obama’s move was a variation of the “keep your friends close, and your enemies closer” principle.

As these two former Senators waged full out war on each other during the Democratic Primary run, Mrs.Bill Clinton was most aggressive in attacking Mr. Obama on his foreign policy ideas and experience. She leveled her harshest, most vile, dirty tactics in this particular area; an area in which she know doubt perceived weakness. Now, President Obama is her boss. She is the Secretary of State, a post in which her main role should be as a vocal supporter of the PRESIDENT’S FOREIGN POLICY. The great concerns in the Obama inner circle are that Mrs. Clinton will be a loose cannon, and a real thorn in the side of President Obama.

There is speculation in some quarters that Obama is setting Hillary up in a brilliant way. Highly placed members of Obama’s innermost circle of advisers and counselors, speaking not for attribution but with knowing looks contend that “Once Hillary steps out of line, which she most certainly will, President Obama will slap her down and slap her down hard”, said one such source.

“She will be publicly humiliated and hung our to dry. Not only will she be booted out of Foggy Bottom right on her soggy bottom, she will be ruined. No Senate seat to scamper back to, no public pulpit from which to blather from. She will find out very quickly that, frankly, no one really cares about her or what she has to say. She will be left to sit in her own bitter, arrogant, spiteful juices until she is a drooling, demented wreck,” commented another.

Let The Games Begin

Ever the shrewd politician, Hillary made all the right moves, arranged the right photos ops and dispassionately mouthed all the right words. It was one big happy family of career foreign service employees; all smiles as she gave them permission to do their jobs, get pumped up to actually 're-ignite' our diplomatic efforts and be strong again.

Some of the bullshit Hillary spouted today at the State Department.

After the TV cameras were packed up and the gathered press corps went for drinks, the atmosphere at State noticeably, dramatically changed. Gone were the smiles and cheers; replaced by the doubts and a powerful sense of resentment that Obama had dumped Hillary on these dedicated folks. “I hated her when she was First Lady, I hated seeing her as a Senator, I despised her gutter politics primary fight and I hate her now,” said Lloyd F. Landis, a long time State Department employee, who was on his way to file his retirement papers before Clinton had left the premises. He continued, “Obama had a real mandate after he won the election. When I first heard rumors that he might be thinking about having Hillary Clinton over here at State, I threw up. I spent the next week in a drunken rage, burned all my furniture in the driveway and divorced my wife of 27 years. After all that was finished, I knew I would resign the day she brought her big, pantsuit covered lard ass into this building. I’m moving to Estonia to be a sculptor.”

Look closely at the two State Department employees
flanking Mrs. Bill Clinton.
Don’t they look revived and enthusiastic?

Former Secretary of State, James A. Baker, who held the post during the George H.W. Bush Administration told reporters from his office in Houston, “That place will eat her alive. She simply does not have the temperament, personality or skills to deal one-on-one with world leaders. She won’t be waltzing around the world visiting young girls in remote African villages or reading to children in Indonesia as she did as First Lady. Nope. She will wake up right quick and maybe, if she has any brains left at all, will realize she is so far in over her head that the only logical thing to do is resign.” Baker added, “I pity the dedicated men and women in the State Department and our Foreign Service officers around the world. Don’t be surprised if there are mass retirements. No one I’ve spoken with thinks Hillary is trustworthy. The common thought in Foggy Bottom is that Mrs. Clinton is profoundly lacking in anything close to practical diplomacy, cannot get along, much less manage people, and is a selfish, arrogant, lying, snotty bitch. She wanted it, well, now she’s got it. Let’s give it a week and see what happens.”

BARAK AROUND THE CLOCK

The new First Couple enjoy the night of balls and celebrations.

PRESIDENT OBAMA WILL HAVE TO SHOW SOME BALLS QUICK.

(Jan. 20, Washington, DC) President Barak Obama and his wife, Michelle, enjoyed a night of star studded galas, top notch performances by artists of many genres, and actually appeared to be having a good time. Hopefully they both did. Tomorrow morning Barak Obama’s Administration will see it’s first official day at the office. Due to the level of expectations following the last eight years of misery, as well as the sense of a breath of fresh air blowing into Washington, many voters may demand the promises of “change” appear almost immediately. That will not happen and the President himself stated that firmly during his Inaugural Address.

The 10 assorted official “Inaugural Balls” were a mix of outright jubilation of having fought the long, hard struggle of the last two years, (just recently concluded by his victory) and a Fat Tuesday element of the last fling before the fasting begins. It indeed was a night of “eat, drink, and be merry for tomorrow, you will be President of the United States bearing all the weight that comes with the job.”

It was at least a night of revitalizing imagery capping a day historic for many reasons. Each of the Obama’s danced with a service member, attended galas such as the first ever “Neighborhood Ball”, and in appearing at the assorted parties, made all the right gestures that all segments of our public were recognized in some way.

We all hope and pray that this man, and a man, albeit, blessed with intellect and talent, can begin to stop the national hemorrhaging and reclaim, recover and rebuild all that the previous administration so easily destroyed.

NEW COALITION OF THE WILLING:

AMERICANS MORE THAN WILLING
TO SHOW GEORGIE THE DOOR

G.W., Defiant To The End
displaying his characteristic disdain for us and the world.

(Jan. 20, The Capitol, Washington, DC) In under 90 minutes Barak Obama will be our President. After eight years of the George W. Bush Administration, we emerge tattered and torn in every way. as a country and as individual citizens. All the adjectives, analogies, metaphors, analysis and perspective produced by politicians, world leaders, the media and pundits, historians and observers have proven inadequate to define the scale, scope, and repercussions of monstrous damage our boy-idiot, GW, has wrought in the United States and around the world.

There really is no need to be redundant; we all recognize on some level how far we have sunk. that we have been brought to the brink of collapse by the Cheney / Bush policies, practices and ideology. Wars, one of which was a war of choice, our imploding economy, global financial collapse, health insurance costs, the highest unemployment in 17 years. The list is long, ominous and now about to be dumped on Mr. Obama.

The most anticipated exit of a President in history.

In time, we will be the America we have always been. President Obama will not be the the Messiah, he will be just a catalyst. We will stand again as a Nation and as individuals. Obama will (hopefully) introduce and enact practical policies that will set the stage for our recovery and resurgence. He CAN take an aggressive, hands-on approach to manage our financial / economic woes, work to make health care available, affordable and more equitable. He CAN bring our troops home from Iraq, insure the best benefits possible for our vets and their families, and finally decide reasonably the methods by which those held at Guantanamo will be adjudicated or released.

Bush, Cheney, Rice, Rumsfeld, Feith, Wolfowitz, Pearl, Gonzalez, Fleisher, Snow, Perino; the entire maniacal Administration and their ilk will no longer be able to inflict us harm. If we are to move forward, restore our institutional and Constitutional integrity , some of these lunatics will face justice for their crimes in a court of law.

Perhaps Ronald Reagan and the strategy employed to place a buffoonish, Alzheimic, former B-list actor, GE spokesman and minor league baseball radio announcer, to the highest office in the land made George W. Bush possible. Reagan was just a figurehead; his advisers ran the Administration while he sucked on jelly beans and shit in his diaper. They would shoot him full of amphetamines and Geritol to trot him out before the cameras only to read from a script to announce whatever his hacks told him to. Reagan broke the ice and wind for future big money backed political neophytes, zealots, and moronic ideologues, using the ultra-dirty GOP campaign tactics, to sit in the Oval Office. Now, after we have lived through the erosion of every defining principal, every branch of government, our trust in those we elect to serve our collective, common interests, we will never be fooled again. Politics is NOT government; at least it shouldn’t be. It should be about character and competence. We will shortly see if our new President and his Administration are capable of exercising both.

Good bye Mr. Bush. May you and yours begin to feel the cancerous misery we have felt and may you and yours someday rot and burn in Hades. Their is a nice ranch on The River Styx for sale - immediate occupancy -no money down -cut rate mortgage and all the amenities you’d need. You are pre-approved.

GOOD LUCK, MR. OBAMA

THE TREK UP THE MOUNTAIN IS
ALWAYS LONGER THAN THE FALL DOWN.

Go easy on the partying: Day One will be sobering enough.

(Jan.18, Washington, DC) The Brooding Cynyx, (at least 50% of us), join with the rest of the American’s anxiously awaiting for our newly elected President, Barak Obama, to assume his position behind the desk in the Oval Office. As our 44th President, he will face challenges not seen since the Civil War, the Great Depression or World War II. Hopefully, he will aggressively engage these challenges thoughtfully, carefully and have the gift of clarity as he accesses reality.

Today an estimated 750, 000 people crammed into this town and tried to squeeze onto the the Great Mall to catch a glimpse of the star-studded lineup helping to usher in what many hope to be “real change” in how we are governed. The Inaugural galas, hoopla's, parties and celebrations should be concluded by Wednesday, the first official day of the Obama Presidency. As the confetti is being swept up, the grandstand disassembled and the revelers travel home, this man will take upon his shoulders enormous responsibilities. People tell pollsters they will “give him time”, that he is going to be granted a “honeymoon” period, and that they all realize that “change will not happen over night.” If these sentiments are as true as most supplied to pollsters, they are just a load of bullshit. It won’t take long for the media, the punditry and the public to get grouchy, impatient, and churlish.

A MOMENT OF HISTORY, OK. NOW, LET’S GET ON WITH IT

As freshman Senator Obama began to have success in the campaign, the analogies, symbolisms and hyperbole grew exponentially with each primary victory. Certainly there is no denying the historic component of his election to the Presidency; perhaps some tempering of the talk is in order. Yes, indeed, he is an African-American, a Black man, the first of his kind to be our President. Absolutely. However, Obama himself tried not to employ the race card and very deliberately maneuvered to keep some distance from it. He ran gracefully, humbly, appealing to all Americans across racial and regional divides. His intention to be a President for ALL of America” has been proclaimed loudy and often. Good, that is what ‘s needed. The last decades of rancorous partisanship and disengagment from average American’s has taken a heavy toll on all of us.

What we do not need now that “this time has come” is to dress this up as an achievement for the entire African American population or “people of color.” It would be too easy for them to think that his personal ascent is in some way redemption, justice: a triumph for them all. It is too easy to adorn this moment and this man with a significance he did not seek. Of course the symbolism available has been too good to resist: speaking on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, overlooking the Great Mall as did Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., his inauguration being the day after the MLK federal holiday, a generation removed from the courageous MLK’s famous inspiring and inspired from the very same locale. Yes there is symbolism aplenty, but, let the symbolism and historic talk cease immediately after President-elect Obama removes his hand from the Bible. (Yes, he will use a copy of the King James Bible to take his Oath of Office.)

LET’S KEEP PERSPECTIVE

The First African American President will forever answer the question “Why haven’t we had a black President yet?”, a question long posed by the African American community. Remember, it took 184 years for us to elect a Catholic President during a time Catholics were a huge segment of the population. The demographic of our population that is African American is approximately 17%. This is a relatively small number. One could ask, “Why haven’t we had an Italian American, a Hispanic American, a Female American, a Disabled American, a Native American, elected President yet?” This is mentioned only to keep things in perspective and dismiss the notion that it was “time” for a Black President. There is no time nor can there be a “time” for such a thing.

It was time for a young, intelligent President who can communicate with the public effectively and steer this, OUR nation, in the polar opposite direction the Idiot-in-Chief George W and his boss, Dick Cheney, disastrously lead us into. Misters Cheney and Bush and all the other scumbags they surrounded themselves with made “this moment” possible. The weary, stressed, distressed, and suffering chunk of the population finally awoke to the idea that now was NOT the time for ideology and anymore of all the other bullshit Cheney/Bush unleashed on us and around the world.

We all sought change and we all recognized it in Barak Obama. It just so happens that Mr. Obama is Black. That’s it, plain and simple. The diverse block of voters who pulled the lever for Obama did not do so with the deliberate intention of electing a Black man. No, they voted for him out of pragmatism and a bone weariness of the same old faces and the same failed policies dressed up to appear different. They saw through the facades of the Hillary’s, McCain’s and those they would surround themselves with.

Yes, we have a new President who happens to be African-American. This is a victory for us regardless of how much the world wants to view this as the advent of a “New America.”

We will be the same America as always, in many, many ways; just fortunate enough to have new leadership, new blood, and (hopefully) new able people to meet our many challenges at home and around the world. Yes, it is sorta neat that we have a Black President if only to put the final nail in the coffin of all the whining about our “racist” society. We should all be proud that at least we were able to vote in a “colorblind” manner hoping to realize the change that is so long overdo and desperately sought.

The Brooding Cynyx, as one, say Godspeed Mr. Obama, may the Good Lord guide you and,
May God Bless America.
